FUCK YOU

'FUCK YOU' is a project based on rejecting the expectation to open yourself up to people who have not taken the time to get to know you, nor have offered anything up of themselves in return.

My instinctive response to being assigned a, quote un-quote, 'self-reflection project' (which required us to bare our souls to what were essentially strangers for a grade), was 'absolutely not.' I took issue with the invasion of privacy immediately, and the 'FUCK YOU' project (and Zine) started falling into place.

Using personalised technical skills I developed throughout College, I created a shoot fundamentally against forced self-expression, which, ironically, perfectly encapsulated me as a person. This was my first time properly delving into University-level photography, and to this day remains one of my most favoured shoots.

'You ask everything of me, expect me to comply, and give nothing in return. I refuse.'
